The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. The Reflections Program is open to all grades. Entries are critiqued against others in the same grade division and judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme.

2022-2023 Reflections Theme is "Show Your Voice"

Young artists get involved in Reflections through their local PTA or PTSA. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are: Literature, Music Composition, Photography, 2D and 3D Visual Arts, Film/Video and Choreography/Dance. A Reflections overview can be found here and last year's winners are posted here for inspiration.

2020-2021 Square 1 Art

It's the time of year for Square 1 Art!  Kids who have been at Rose Hill Elementary in the past know Square 1 Art is a fun art project the whole school takes part in. Usually the halls are filled with all the Square 1 Art projects from each class in each grade, and later your parents can purchase mugs, shirts, tote bags, and other great stuff with your art on it to raise money for the PTSA!

We're still doing Square 1 Art this year, but it's going to be a little different.  Students can make their art projects on any piece of square paper, no need for a special form.  They can also choose any art project they like, if they have one in mind.  They can even do more than one!

For kids who prefer to follow along with a lesson plan, there are two options for you. You can watch pre-recorded lessons and do the project whenever you have time. Here are some pre-recorded lessons available here just for our school! Each one is a little different and has different levels of challenge. You can do one or all three!

Additionally, there will be three live Teams events after mid-winter break for kids to participate in and draw along with their friends. This will be a great way to share artwork with your friends and ask questions to our “artist in residence,” who will be leading the lessons.

Faces Art Project Live Lesson – Wednesday, February 17 @ 11:00 a.m.

Lighthouse Art Project Live Lesson – Wednesday, February 24 @ 11:00 a.m.

Parents will be photographing and uploading the artwork to the Square 1 Art website themselves this year.  The final deadline for uploading art is March 8, and you'll have until April 14 to order items.
